From Sussex and I Know It – video goes viral

Fredericton, New Brunswick (see red circle) where I current reside is located on the East Coast of Canada. Much of our beautiful province borders on Maine, Prince Edward Island (ever hear of Anne of Green Gables?), Quebec and Nova Scotia.

About a 2 hour drive from our fabulous Freddy Beach (as we like to call Fredericton), there is a lovely farming community called Sussex (see other red circle) mostly known for it’s dairy farming.

Hubby lived in Sussex for a couple of years when he was a kid. It’s actually where we went to spread some of Mamma K’s ashes on Mother’s Day. We like to visit the quaint town because it’s like a step back in time. They have the only drive-in theatre in New Brunswick and there’s nothing quite as heart-warming as a date night at the drive-in. Very traditional and old-fashion…we totally dig that shit! And of course, we do it up right…as you can see!

Now we have even more reasons to be proud of our sister-town. A couple of teens from Sussex are the newest YouTube phenomenon. They did a parody of LMFAO’s I’m Sexy and I Know It that’s going viral. The story of the video and it’s success even made the Huffington Post and it’s been all over local news programs here. I guess the teens are hoping Ellen takes notice and features it on her show.

I watched it last week and near fell off my chair. I knew immediately it was perfect for a Tuesday post since it’s guaranteed to make you laugh (unless you are near dead or without a sense of humor).

Any YouTube videos cracking you up? See any other stellar LMFAO parodies worth giving a shout out to? Come on…share the wealth…

It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

More blog deliciousness here:

  1. That’s funny! The kids at my school who help out with the Playworks program did a parody for the talent show, “We’re Junior Coaches and We know it.” It was SO cute! I also like Elmo’s version. In fact, I think all the parodies are much better than the original. P.S. Never knew there was a Sussex in Canada. My mother went to Univeristy in Sussex, but it’s in England. 🙂

  2. OMG, they are having SUCH a great time! I just love that song, and all the different parodies that have come out from that.

The YouTube parody I’m thinking about is one on Beyonce’s All the Single Ladies, called “All the Pregnant Ladies.” Hilarious!

Oh, and thanks for the linkage, darling!!

    • O.M.G LOVE All the Pregnant Ladies – that is AWESOME!! LOL!!!!

      • Yep, when I put that up for a Saturday baby post, Piper (who’s a professional bellydancer) didn’t believe she was pregnant but I really couldn’t tell. All I knew is that I started dying the minute she held up a condome and said, “If you loved me, you would have put a thing on it…”

  3. O.M.F.G.!!! That was too frikkin hilarious! I love that you have a connection to Sussex. Those boys should definitely be on Ellen. I bet they are super sweet. They obviously have a great sense of humor. I wasn’t loving the poo, but I thought when they jiggled the cow’s udders I’d die from laughing!! I gotta show my family this. Maybe even on the big television. Oh, my!

  5. That drive-in pic looks so COMFY! I miss the drive-ins! Sigh. Wish we had one around here! Great post, Natalie!

  6. That is soooo cute! How cool that these guys have such a great sense of humor!

One of MY recent faves? Cats with thumbs:

  7. Fun video! The ones that still cracks me up most is the one your dear hubby posted on my maxi pad post. LOL It’s become quite a hit with my Minnesotan fam!

  8. What a hoot! That is so funny! I especially laughed at the ‘jiggle, jiggle, jiggle’. Thanks for sharing, Natalie. 🙂

  9. This is too funny. Reminds me of my childhood farmgirl days. I didn’t muck in that stuff, but I did all the rest! Had the best time in the hay barn with the kittens. The cows just ignored us. Oh well. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Loved it!

  11. TOOOOO FUNNY! I hope those kids get on Ellen … they totally deserve it!
