Trailer hitch hammock (aka the bumper thumper)

Over the last year, I’ve featured a couple trailer hitch inventions that totally rock. The trailer hitch stripper pole (a personal fav), tv stand, and who could forget last week’s bumper dumper – all creature comforts of home we like to take with us on the road.

Well I have found the mother of all trailer hitch inventions. How about Hammaka Trailer Hitch Stand?

I mean, can you say ultimate tailgating party equipment to enhance your leisure and comfort?

And this hammock system is built to last. It’s made from durable steel and will hold 250 pounds on each arm. It attaches to any 2-inch standard hitch receiver and its 3-piece installation assembles in only minutes. Add a couple Ultimate Hanging Air Chairs (as featured in the picture) and BAM, you are set to swing on the back of your truck for hours.

OMG can you say MUST HAVE! I can picture hubby and I using it at all kinds of tailgating events this year. We are planning on hitting a few outdoor concerts. What better place to max and relax in our dual trailer hitch hammock system than in the parking lot awaiting entrance to the concert.

Or what about backing the truck up to the bank of a lake and casting a pole while swinging gently in the wind. Oh yes – my kind of fishing!

Or if a camp party gets a little stuffy, I’ll be able to just sneak outside and lounge around in my hammock chair. Get some air. Relax. Best yet, let’s say I get a little too drunk. I’d be able to take a nap and hubby could just hop in, drive us home and toss a blanket over me. Tada. Comfort AND convenience.

Or how about using this at work during those gorgeous summer days!!! Happens all the time where I am at work, all stressed out and even more PISSED because there I sit at my computer for hours watching the gorgeous summer day pass me by. Well no more. Now I can park the truck, whip up my trailer hitch hammock and give new meaning to the words break time and lunch! I can totally picture myself catching some rays. Shoot, maybe the wireless would reach and I could actually work from my hammock chair?!?!? You know, a happy employee means a productive employee.

Heck, I bet I could even RENT out the chairs at work while I am not using them and recoup the initial purchase cost and then some. Genius. I’ll make a fortune. I’ll be a hit, a superstar, everyone’s BFF! This little venture will put hubby’s Fry and Ride venture idea to shame!

And…the BEST part…with a little privacy the entire thing could be converted to one HELL of a bumper thumper. Oh yeah – put your minds directly IN the gutter with me friends! What FUN! Naked. Outdoors. Swinging. Squeee! I am in like flin! And I am sure with a few hints about all the “adult” swing fun and frolicking we could have; hubby will whip out his credit card for this one. We’ll be “just a swinging” in no time.

Where would you use the trailer hitch hammock system? Come on…share the wealth…

It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

More blog deliciousness here:

  1. Natalie's Hubby says:

    CHARGE IT!!!!
I don’t know why it has to be Fry n Ride vs the Bumper Thumper – I think would be a welcomed addition to the Fry n Ride. And only add tomore “inside” humor on the “Ride” portion of the Fry n RIDE!!!

PS: LOL! – you kill me honey!!! Sending hugs and lots of Bluvin! (Portmanteau for Blog + Luvin)

  2. OMG Natalie…where was this when we were camping with 3 kids?

  3. Wow, how cool! Although I wouldn’t recommend sitting in one while the truck is moving, LOL. You guys find the coolest stuff!

    • No? Really? I wondered if it’d be dangerous but thought if hubby took his time and went slow (avoiding water-filled potholes would be key) we might be ok. OMG we could be a travelling welcoming party going up and down the camp road. I could sing. I could yell wonderful ditties and hellos to my fellow camp friends…I can see it all now!
Hmmmm….but safety could be an issue. Perhaps we’ll design a seat belt of sorts for it.

  4. Haha! This looks like a trailer hitch thingy I might actually like. Not that I will ever own anything with a hitch or ever go do something “outdoorsy” on purpose! But in the parking lot of a football stadium, that could be fun. I bet the guys would like to find a way to combine it with the stripper pole so they can sit and be entertained.

    • YES Emma – this would be perfect at a football stadium! You’d be a HIT!
I agree…this coupled with the stripper pole would be genius! Huge entertainment and possible profit making. LOL!!

    • It’s funny you should say that, Emma. My hubby just looked over my shoulder and asked me, “So does it convert into a stripper pole??”

  5. While this trailer hitch thingamabob looks really cool, the lazy side of me (which is about 9/10 of me) wonders if it wouldn’t be easier just to set up a camp chair or throw a blanket on the ground and catch some Zzz’s. Then again, I drive a Honda Civic, so what do I know about trailer hitch gadgets?!!! Fab stuff, Natalie.

    • WAHAHAHA!!! Easier maybe but not NEARLY as fun! Girl…I want to SWING and be suspended in comfort as only a hammock offers. A chair?!?! So yesterday. So passe. So…boring. The trailer hitch hammock system makes a bold statement of comfort!! LOL!!
FYI, you can get a trailer hitch for a Honda Civic. LOL!!!

  6. OKay, this is one that would be great at any outdoor event … although I’m like Julie, a camp chair would be easier. And we don’t have a truck. But if we did, we’d totally buy this, lol.

  7. Now THAT is a product I can get behind! Though I’m with Julie on wondering if it wouldn’t be easier just to set up a chair, LOL

    • Girls girls girls…what is all this about “easy”??? Who wants easy. Besides which ladies….the Hubbies set this sort of thing up so what could be easier than just plopping your butt into your set up and waiting for you HAMMOCK chair…nothing!
And I bet WAYYY more comfy than those old, rickety chairs…

      • Natalie's Hubby says:

Nat- I’m glad you outted yourself on the ‘easy’ portion of these comments because I was already formulating my response comment.

Ladies – in Nat’s world everything is easy (yes even 134 O’s) as Hubby does everything inconjunction with Manual Labor. These chairs would be SO EASY for Princess – for Hubby – not so much!!!

    • I would never dream of denying the truth of matter hubby! I know exactly where my bread is buttered!! LOL!! And by the way, THANK YOU for all that you do…you big, strong, manly man!! Where would I be without you and your strength and power?!?!?! Alas…lost!
Oh and for y’all who aren’t sure what hubby means by the (134 Os…cough *as if*) – check out hubby’s comment to Jenny’s X is for X Chromosome post:

  8. This…this is actually rather genius. 🙂 Love it!

Thanks for the link too, Natalie! 🙂

  9. Ooh, I want one! You just reminded me that I wrote a song about hamocks eons ago. 🙂 I would use mine at the beach, my backyard and airplanes. Imagine how much comfier they’d be compared to regular plane seats! Do you think they float??? You find all the coolest stuff, Natalie. Thanks for another fun post and the super warm shout out! Means a lot coming from you.

    • Yeahhhhh another one who wants one with me. I love it! I agree, hanging style seats would be way more comfy than those regular plane seats.
Float – that would be genius!

  10. I always look forward to your Tuesday posts Natalie. Gee, I wonder why??? I love these chairs. I could see us parking by a lake, hubby fishing and me sitting there swinging with a book and a glass of red. These would also be perfect for the back bays of Florida where you can just pull up and park. I’m going to have to look into these!! Thanks!
BTW, hubby LOVED the bumper dumper.

    • Woot woot – I think you and hubby would look perfect in a couple of these Kate! Ahhh…swinging with a book and a glass of red wine – heavenly!
Squeeee…love that your hubby luved the bumper dumper!! LOL! Awesomeness!!!

  11. OK, we’ve got the truck and the toddler, and camping is on my horizon. I think we definitely need one, but how much are they??

    • Squeeee!! You guys will love it!
On the website, they list the stand at $130 US and each hammock chair is $50 so for the whole thing, around $230 + tax and shipping.
But I think soooo worth it. 🙂

      • OK, it’s a little steeper than the $15 camp chairs, but the foot rest and the photo opportunities might elevate it into the area of “SO WORTH IT.”

  12. Trish Loye Elliott says:

That is hilarious! I think I’d bust a gut if I saw someone setting that up at a campsite. Love it!
BTW, thanks for the blog shoutout.

Don't be shy...tell me what you think
