ROW80 – Round 1 – Check-in #4

It’s Sunday and that means time for another ROW80 progress update. This week dipped a little bit but still all around good progress.

Writing Goals:

  • Complete outline of WIP
  • Write 1750 words a week, on average 250 words a day (can be on WIP or other writings like flash fiction, character development, world building etc)
    1923 words total this week
  • Finish James Scott Bell book
    Wrote out notes for chapter 4 & 5
  • Read 2 other writing craft books

Social Media Goals:

  • Blog – post 4 times a week
    4 posts – total word count: 2683
  • Blog – post ROW80 progress reports twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday)
  • Tweet/Comment on at least 10 blogs a week
  • Comment on 1 new blog per week (ROW80 or otherwise)

Healthy Lifestyle Goals:

  • Cardio – 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday)
    Done. This week we tried skating (now referred to as Death by Skating in my house – wowzers!)
  • BowFlex – 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)
    Nope – 2 times this week – just been too sore.
  • Maintain a daily food/migraine journal

The wins:

  • Exceeded my word goal.
  • Met all my social media goals.
  • Met “most” of my healthy lifestyle goals (I’ve gone hard-core on the water with lemon and we went out to breakfast for my Mom’s birthday and ordered a very healthy breakfast – success). We also really enjoyed trying a somewhat new sport (hadn’t been skating in about 6 years). It’s a fun way to get cardio in and looking forward to going back this week.

Where to improve:

  • Like last week, for my word goal I only wrote 3 evenings and around 120 minutes. I want to increase the time spent on my WIP. Maybe similar writing times/amount but add time on plotting, planning and idea brainstorming. Priority this week.
  • I really need to make time to read craft books.
  • This week I want to make sure I get all 3 work-outs in and really concentrate on food. This weekend, we went to the movies and broke down and had the popcorn (although no butter). I want to learn how to go out to stuff we used to eat unhealthy at but adopt healthy eating practices. Retrain the brain.
