Urban Word Wednesday: Bettse

Welcome to Urban Word Wednesday! New words, phrases, and sayings I am learning (and using in my day-to-day life) brought to you by ME…and the Urban Dictionary. You are gonna love these!

Bettse: An undesirable sexual position; uncomfortable; boring; lazy.

Examples Of Use:

Allow me to set the scene. I am brushing my teeth getting ready for bed. Hubby comes up and snuggles in behind me. He whispers in my ear.

Hubby: So…you wanna get it on?

Me: As long as it isn’t bettse-style, I’m game!

Hubby: When do we ever do it bettse-style???

Me: Last week, you had my legs crisscrossing in the air doing the helicopter. I thought I was going to die. Who can hold their legs like that?!?! I’m not a national gymnast honey! The muscle pain was distracting.

Hubby: Sorry. Lord why didn’t you say something?!?! I was just trying to spice it up. I got it…no more helicopter….no more bettse, I promise!

Got any bettse-style stories? Come on….share the wealth…

  1. HA! Natalie, your urban word posts make me laugh/smile EVERY time. I bet you’re inspiring many hilarious walks down memory lane with this one! Thinking I should save my own Bettses for a future GG, naughty/nice post… Hmm…

PS How does one pronounce this uber-useful word??? 😉

    • Well I am tickeld pink that you enjoy them August. Wait till you see next week’s…eeekeee….LOL! Hubby and I have a blast trying em’ out.
Pronounciation…hmmm…not entirely sure. I just sounded it out like Betsy. LOL!

  2. LOL, love it Natalie! This reminds me of the time That Man and I tried a position from the Kama Sutra cards 😉

I’m with August, your urban word posts make my day.

    • Kuma Sutra – eeeekeee – you guys are brave! Even hubby and I haven’t gone there. LOL!
Glad you guys enjoy them. I’ll keep em’ coming. Hubby and I have a blast trying them out.

  3. I was always taught that the first rule of bettse style is you don’t talk about bettse style. Where DO you come up with these words! Helicopter legs? What the heck? Kama Sutra cards? Yikes! I have no idea what you people are talking about! Or do I?

    • That is likely the rule Tameri but I’m such a gossip, I can’t keep my mouth shut about these things. LOL!
Don’t you play all innocent with us – we know you better than that. I bet you got moves we ain’t never seen before.

  4. First bettse rule is stretch first. What? Yeah, um, so I’ve heard. Great post, Natalie! As for the Kama Sutra cards, the full book has better pics and instructions. What? 🙂

  5. Ha! Great one. I’m with August in looking forward to Wednesday. You make hump day more exciting! I am also wondering how it is pronounced. Does it sound like the name Betsy? If so, I’m glad that’s not my name.

    • Ah, but Emma, this should read: “You make hump day more exciting *if you know what I mean*! No?

    • Awwww…it’s awesome to know you guys enjoy them! 🙂
Hmmm…I just sounded it out like Betsy but am not entirely sure. Urban dictionary doesn’t provide the sounding out syllables like the dictionary does. We can just take a guess and go with Betsy. LOL!

  6. Oh my word, Natalie. Helicopter legs? My laptop will never be the same from the coke zero I just spewed out on it from laughing so hard.

  7. using the cards from the Kuma Sutra cards? I remember trying some of those. OOPS I think I just pulled something. thanks for a good laugh

  8. Bettse – I thought it would have been “the act of taking one for the team!”

  9. I’m completely not getting where you pulled “Bettsee” from!!! Word origin please! Is this a portmanteau??

    • Word origin?!?! LOL!!! It’s from the urban dictionary girl and that means it’s made up by regular folks like you and me. It had a secondary definition as well – stupid people. LOL!!!
I don’t think it was a portmanteau but it’s open for creation if we can figure it out. HEHEHE!

  10. kerrymeacham says:

Kerry <—Guy in crowd pretending to be fly on wall and keeping his mouth shut.

  11. So, if a person can bettse, does that make them a member of the Mile High club or are the two mutually exclusive? You’ve got to use the bettse in a book. 🙂

    • Eeeeekkeee…LOL!!! I think there’s only one way to become a member of the Mile High Club…LOL!!!
I am going to have to find a way to work all these delicious words into a book…can you imagine?!?! LOL!

  12. Honestly, I have no idea at all what you people are talking about. hehehe Hump day? (Ok, where do I sign up?) Bettse? Kama Sutra? (Blushing) Ladies, the thing suddenly getting stretched here is my imagination. Hey there, Fly on the Wall, we can hear you breathing, better watch the old blood pressure….
    Natalie, another great one. 🙂

    • ROFL!!!!
Glad to help your imagination stretch Prudence. It’s always good to “explore” one’s mind. LOL! Your comment about the Fly on the Wall…I nearly busted a gut. RIOT!

  13. I can not express how much I love this word. Bettse. I will work this into a conversion in the very near future. LOL
