ROW80 – Round 4 – Check-in #18

It’s time to update you on my ROW80 progress. You can find a list of my goals here.

Work In Progress Goals:

This week, I reviewed my ROW80 goals and good thing because I had forgotten a few things I had planned to do. So this weekend I got to it. I didn’t kick ass but I did make a wee bit of progress.

  • 1 hours on WIP (goal: 5 hours/week)
    • Working on story ideas
  • Read through 2 of my 7 teenage journals to see if there is book material there (so far, no material other than the realization that I should burn the journals).
  • Had an email chat with my ROW80 Sista, Nancy J. Nicholson – she rocks!
  • I reported on my ROW80 goals on time.

So, definitely a better week but I still have much work to do. With the end of ROW80 coming soon, I need to get at it if I want to reach all my goals!

Blogging Goals:

  • Blogged 6 days (8 posts) including this post

How is your ROW80 progress going thus far?

  1. Keep plugging away, girl! I just realized the end of Row80 was nearing, and I’m going to miss my WIP goals, but we’ve got a couple of weeks to do as much as we can. Good luck!

  2. Any progress is great, Natalie! You did well. Had to laugh about the teen journals…isn’t it funny how dramatic we were then? It might make good material for a YA or a comedy novel. 🙂

    • You are so right Marcia – this whole experience has been one huge WIN for me. I’ve never thought about or spent this much time on my WIP dream so it’s a huge success. 🙂
Oh my land, I was a complete and utter idiot. How my mother managed to put up with me, is beyond my wildest dreams. LOL! A boy-crazed comedy journal for sure! LOL! 🙂

  3. See Natalie, you’re back in the saddle too. Both of us are getting fired-up for the end of round 4. And look at you, no matter what, you’re working toward your dream.

  4. Some progress is better than none! At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. I saw someone said the challenge is over in two weeks – yikes! I don’t think I’ll be meeting my revision goal, either. But I’m going to see how close I can get!

  5. No one says you have to kick ass every day 😉 I bet it’s funny going back through those old journals. Good luck with this coming week.

  6. Oh Natalie, you are hilarious! Burn the journals. LOL!!!!!

And thank God you got in touch with your ROW Sista!!! (I see you took my prodding serious. Sorry about that. I just couldn’t hold back. I have been such a stinker lately. Hmmm. LOL)

I cannot wait to join you all over at ROW80 in January! 🙂

    • I am serious, I am totally burning them. Hubby asked if he could read them first and I was like NO WAY. No one needs to see that very young, foolish me. LOL!
Yip, we connected and it was so nice. Your nudge was much appreciated – we can all use a little push now and again.
SWEET!!! Can’t wait to ROW on with you in January! 🙂

  7. Don’t burn the journals! lol Not yet. They might give you ideas later. I know mine did 😉
Weren’t you super sick last week? I know you were, so you’re doing great. And I’m sure you’ll do great by next check-in!
    Good luck!

    • HAHAHA! I may just burn sections. I did find a couple really great bits. An awesome letter-type writing I did after my Dad died that was quite moving. So it’s not all garbage. 🙂
Yes, I was sick so it’s been a slow progression towards getting back into the swing of things. I am definitely hoping for a better week this week. Getting a lot of Xmas shopping done this weekend helped me feel less pressured.
Here’s to a great week ahead for both of us Juliana! 🙂

  8. Never ever burn the journals!!!! Great resources once you get over smacking your Teen Self around. 🙂 (Ask me how I know. LOL.)

Sorry if I’m behind here on your updates but are you thinking of a YA? I’m looking forward to reading you, Natalie. Seriously. You’ve got such a great voice. My prediction is that you’ll be Kristen’s poster child for her branding class. 🙂 ♥wana♥

    • Awwwww…thank you Bridgette!!! You rock!!!
Yeah, I will rethink burning the journals. LOL!
I haven’t actually firmed up a genre. I am so torn. YA or women’s fiction or chick lit. Ahhhhrrrrrgggg!! I have FAB story ideas for each and I am trying to “pick” which one is my most passionate one. But I love them all…we’ll see!!
Poster child – is that like teacher’s pet? I am sooo all over it! LOL!
I love your little wana with the hearts…soooo cute!!
      ♥wana♥

  9. I kept a few journals from my teen years too. It’s profoundly amazing how shallow I was most of the time. I remembered being much more brilliant in my teen years — certainly smarter than my parents (ha!). There are a few gems in there worth keeping, though.

I can’t believe the end of ROW80 is in sight. I still have SO much to do. My problem really is that I have several WIP trails and can’t decide which one to take (first). Best wishes for finishing strong!

    • I know, eh?! I couldn’t believe how shallow I was. I think we probably all were and had no idea. The joys of being teens when you think you are way more mature and smarter than you are. LOL!
I can’t believe the end is in sight. I totally feel your pain because I am in the EXACT same spot. I have so many WIP ideas and I can’t seem to commit. Just when I think I have, I waiver. UGH! I need to nail this down so I can move forward. Here’s to both of us finishing strong! 🙂

  10. I’m with you on reading our teen journals, I don’t know who wrote mine but I hope he survived into adulthood 🙂

Overall, you’re doing great on your goals, keep pressing forward!

  11. Any movement is movement in the right direction. You are doing awesome, Natalie! Go, go, go!!!!

  12. Great job with the goals! It’s hard to believe ROW80 is nearing it’s end…this session anyway 🙂 Best of luck with the upcoming week Natalie!

Don't be shy...tell me what you think
