ROW80 – Round 4 – Check-in #16

It’s time to update you on my ROW80 progress. You can find a list of my goals here.

Work In Progress Goals:

Well, what can I say, not much changed since I updated on Wednesday.

  • 0 hours on WIP (goal: 5 hours/week)
  • I haven’t touched base with my ROW80 Sista, Nancy J. Nicholson yet – I suck.
  • I reported on my ROW80 goals on time.

I got nothing done this week as I had hoped. Death by swimming did go ahead so Wednesday was a right off but I thought I’d get more done later in the week and weekend. But then….I caught hubby’s illness.

First it started with a sore throat that kept me awake all night Thursday night. It honestly felt like someone poured acid down my throat. It was so swollen that every time I tried to swallow any liquid, it came out my nose. Ewwwww!! TMI!! Then Friday it erupted in my sinus’ and I thought my head was trying to grow legs through my eyeballs. I couldn’t even concentrate. I spent the entire weekend in bed with a box of klennex and a whimpering voice. Hubby took excellent care of me. I realized his cold was much worse than I thought and I should have provided him with more sympathy than I did. Ooops. Sorry hubby, I’ll do better next time!

All that to say – I got nothing done on my WIP this week – nada!

Oh well, here’s to feeling better this week – I hope!

Blogging Goals:

  • Blogged 6 days (7 posts) including this post
  • Read, commented, retweeted/tweeted on at least 15 blogs.

How is your ROW80 progress going thus far?

  1. Hope you feel better! Hopped here from the ROW80 link: love how you’ve set up your website!

  2. Ugh! The germs have invaded your nook in the world. So sorry to hear you were sick all weekend. Sucks to lose time away from the goals, but glad your husband was there for support. Sometimes just having someone near to check-in and bring ice water makes it all better. I know you’ll hop right back to your writing work, checking in on Nancy, etc. once you feel better, so no worries. Sharing a virtual bag of zinc lozenges and green tea with you. 🙂

    • Ahhhh…thank you for the virtual lozenges and green tea – just what I needed Barbara! 🙂
When he got sick about 10 days ago, I told myself there was no way I was getting it. After about 5 or 6 days, I thought I’d actually managed. Then Thursday hit – ugh! Alas, we are on the mend. And you are right, it’s definitely nice to have someone there to pamper and spoil me….eases the pain! 🙂 Hope your week has been good. Off to have a visit at your digs. 🙂

  3. Wow, Natalie, I can soooo sympathize; poor you and your hubby! As for goals, well, my mantra in the last round was “Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down;” so just keep on going!

And on a totally selfish note–I have been to your blog many times before, but your tag line hit me right between the eyes (ooh, sorry, you still have sore sinuses!). I am working so hard to figure out who I am, and to stop being a total chameleon. What a wonderful tag line! Hope youkeep getting better, and attack those goals with renewed energy.

    • Thanks so much for the vote of confidence Elizabath. I really appreciate it. Here’s hoping I get on the mend and can dig my teeth into it this week. Just keep going – that’s my new mantra! 🙂
Awwwww….Elizabeth!!! Thank you and I am so happy that it spoke to you in such a way. And I hope that you enjoy and cherish the journey within – it’s most spectacular!

  4. Bah, poor you! And poor hubby of yours! And it was Thanksgiving weekend … I hope you feel better soon!
And you can catch up on your WIP later 😉

  5. Sending lots of FEEL BETTER! YOU CAN DO IT vibes! YES! YES! YES!

  6. Ooooh…Natalie, no fun. Here’s to turning the corner and feeling better. Jenny Hansen was say that ROW80 is a fresh start every Wednesday and Sunday, I said it was just like confession — confess your sins and voila, back in line for heaven, yay!

You’ll be back to your overachieving self in no time, I’m sure — but don’t push it. Be good to yourself.

  7. There’s nothing worse than having good intentions and then being sidelined by an illness. Nothing you can do until the storm passes. But pass it will, Natalie! Just focus on the end result and the rest will fall into place. Until then, take care of yourself. The world awaits!!!!

  8. Ugh! I must have caught it from your blog! Well … actually, I caught it from my grandchildren. Same symptoms … yuk! Going back to bed. Sending speedy recovery wishes to you.

  9. What a way to spend your week! Bless your heart. I hope you’re all better now. Best wishes on a great writing week! I didn’t accomplish a lot last week myself. I kept up with blogging and did a few character bios. Not nearly enough. This week, I’ll be hitting it hard.

    • Thanks Julie – here’s hoping for a better week ahead.
Well, it sounds like you accomplished more than you think. Keeping up with blogging can be a near full time job and I bet those character bios will serve you really well this week. You laid the foundation for a productive week ahead…woot woot!

Don't be shy...tell me what you think
