Hold the press. Break out the band. Get me a drum roll. Cue the cheerleaders.

And the Hubby of the Year Award goes to….

Yes…you guessed it….I was gifted a BlackBerry Bold 9900 last evening.

Hubby read the yesterday’s post and said that he really didn’t care which BlackBerry he had, as long as he had one. Considering how much I obviously love the new one, he insisted I have it. He said it was a Happy Birthday Blog gift. Awwwwwwwww….

I protested. I swear I did. I insisted he keep it. I mean…he deserves a new gadget considering I have a pink mini laptop and a Kindle. But…well…what can I say? He simply wouldn’t let it go. What could I do?! I didn’t want to offend him or throw his gift in his face…so….

I got me a new BlackBerry Bold 9900 and my pink glitter cases are on order.

And in my continued attempts to win Wife of the Year, I did order hubby his favorite otterbox for the Bold 9700 that he inherited.

When has your partner put your wants/needs ahead of his/her own? What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

  1. Your husband is a gem Natalie! But you sound like fun so I think he’s lucky too. Best gift? My husband recently gifted me with the money to go to a weeklong writing retreat — Writing the Breakout Novel Intensive with Donald Maass. He’s a good guy too.

    • Awwww…what an incredible gift to have received. The gift itself was ahhmazing but more than that, it speaks to the thoughtfulness and the real support that your hubby has for your writing. This is a man who believes in you and your dreams!! The gift of true support and investment is a tremendous thing. You and hubby MacNicol rock! You must have felt really special and loved by him…tks for sharing! 🙂 How did you find the retreat? What gems of knowledge did you pick up?

  2. Ooooooh, you both are so lucky! I adore Donald Maas. Kate, you’re going to have so much fun and learn more than your brain can retain.

Natalie! How cool is that? Your hubby definitely wins hubby of the year (but mine’s pretty darn close). So glad you got your pink glitter cases, too.

    whoohoo! for both of you.

  3. Whoops – slipped on a few sparkles and bits of cheerleader’s pompoms on the way in here! Way to go Natalie!

  4. Wow what a nice gift. I didn’t think of blogging about birthday or christmas gifts….hm…my birthdays coming up. Thanks for the great idea.

  5. Jealous! No, just kidding. Okay, if you REALLY want me to brag… I got a very nice wrist watch from my husband for our wedding anniversary that we just celebrated. I had a cool Movado but it stopped working after about 4 years. This was over a year ago and I haven’t bought a replacement, although I kept saying that I need to.

  6. LOL! And you sound genuinely surprised, Natalie! But any of who know you and you hubby…really aren’t. xoxoxo Very happy for you!

  7. Enjoy yout new social media gadget sweetheart!
And Happy 1st Birthday of your Blog!

So nice to see you enjoying yourself so much!!

  8. Jillian Dodd - Glitter, Bliss and Perfect Chaos says:

The best gift my husband ever got me were diamond earrings. It wasn’t even our anniversary, which is usually when I get jewelry. (Every five years, so I don’t get spoiled.) It was an amazing surprise. Of course, I’m pretty sure they were a guilt purchase, as he had just bought himself his dream car, but whatever, I was excited and wear them almost everyday!
Recently he brought me home a gluten free brownie that he had found at the store. It was really good 🙂

    • That sounds so wonderful. Aren’t spontaneous gifts the best? And jewelry no less! I think jewelry makes for a wonderful gift because you have it forever and every time you put it on, you think of hubby and smile. But hey, gluten-free brownies are up there as well. 🙂
In the end, it’s the thoughtfulness of any gesture (big or small) that lights us ladies up, isn’t it?

Don't be shy...tell me what you think
