Sometimes the grass IS greener on the other side

Honestly, there is nothing I hate worse than clutter. A long reformed slob, it drives me absolutely batty (shut up hubby!). Now with all our electronic gadgets, our kitchen island has become a mass charging station. Two Blackberries, 1 Samsung Galaxy, 2 digital cameras, iPods, Kindles, laptops, tablets…the list goes on and on.

I swear it looks like we are gearing up to power the next space shuttle. It’s an endless collection of gadgets that sends my visual senses into overload. When I come into the kitchen in the morning greeted by the sight of oodles of metal, chords and blinking lights, I cringe. Not the way to start the day…no sirree!

There’s got to be a better way!

You betcha!

Decorative Things Grass Charging Station (http://www.decorativethings.com)

In this nature-inspired oasis, the coiled wires are hidden in the bottom while all my gadgets sit pretty on the grass charging away. Genius people!

I definitely need a couple for the kitchen but hell…I might just get one for every room in the house. Ya never know when ya gotta do an emergency charge, right? Might as well look good doing it!

And…It comes in WHITE and a MINI version people!

It’s gorgeous and so…calming! Now I’ll actually look forward to plugging in my gear in at night.

Sleep tight Blackberry….night night iPod…rest easy Kindle…sweet dreams tablet…I hope y’all are comfy in your grass bed! I am the world’s best gadget mom!!

How do you handle all the electronics clutter in your home? Do you have a dream charging station or do you just plug them in where ever you have a free outlet? How do you handle clutter? Come on…share the wealth…

Kegel panties?! Because tighter is better…

Jenny Hansen did a timely undies chronicles post yesterday that had me oohing and aahing over the latest innovations in double-duty bras and texting adult underpants. Definitely worth the read folks! Timely because I had me an undie chronicle of my own all lined up for y’all to swoon over today. Jenny’s gonna lose her shit over this one! Squeeeeee!

It all started on the weekend. Hubby and I had the pleasure of hanging with friends who are expecting a baby in the near future. Having never been pregnant and given my totally curious nature, we dove right into a lengthy question and answer session. One of my friend’s concerns was regarding the vajayjay; will it go back to its former glory after childbirth or will it be forever stretched into an echoing canyon?

Heart breaking for her anxiety, I went out in search of answers or some kind of product that could help. Girl (you know who you are), this post is for YOU!

Allow me to introduce you to….the PantyO; the kegel exercising panty…because tighter is better!

Shut the front door. I know!

This panty may look like any other slightly bejeweled panty but it’s a panty that packs a punch with a kegel exercise extension (about one inch in height) sewn right into the crotch of the panty.

Inside the PantyO (www.pantyo.com)

That’s right…when you put the panty on; you insert the silicon extension into your hooha to give you a “focus” point to perform your kegels.

No more wondering if you are squeezing the right muscles; when you clench your cookie and she grips that cool cucumber like there’s no tomorrow, you’ll know your working your kegels and that a tighter twat is around the corner.

And for my friend with the concerns about her vajayjay after having a baby, kegels help restore the pelvic wall after pregnancy and labor. BAM! Girl, I got your back!!! I mean shoot…what are friends for, right?!?!

And that’s not all. The benefits and importance from performing kegels goes beyond muff magic. They also:

  • Strengthen the pelvic wall for pre-pregnancy and easier labor (shut up?!?! Seriously?!?!).
  • Improves bladder control (always a plus).
  • Helps tighten vaginal passage which can increase sexual pleasure (sold!).

This is one workout that’s easy to do anytime, anyplace. Fire on your PantyOs and head out shopping, working, or watching TV knowing your vajayjay will thank you (and reward you) for it later!

Basic PantyO

The PantyOs comes in two styles. You can get the cheeky PantyO for $85 (as seen above) or the more basic PantyO for $52 and can order either here. Both are made from 100% spandex featuring Swarovski’s Crystals and the pantyO silicon exercise extension.

I wonder if this would make a weird or awkward baby shower gift? Hmmmm…

It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

Side-sleeping women celebrate ~ long awaited bust support

Like a lot of women, I sleep on my side nearly every night. And I am sure I am not alone in my sometimes quite painful bust discomfort. The two sort of slam together fighting for space under my PJs. One gets tired of bearing the brunt of the bottom and cries out in painful muscle spasms until I wake up enough to shift to the other side. I swear I can almost hear lefty laughingly screaming out “take it bitch!” as she gets the top advantage point for a couple of hours.

And it’s not like I have a bonanza of boobilicousness going on. I mean, I am just a healthy ol’ C cup. I can’t imagine how women with larger endowments feel or how they cope. Ugh!

Well ladies, you know I am all about providing you with little gadgets and fun to increase your comfort and ease in life. I mean, I guarantee that at some point in your life (even if you never admit to it) the instructions to peeing in the bush and the Go Girl will come in handy. And don’t even get me started on the usefulness of Subtle Butt. I mean…need I say more?!?!?

But I must say I’ve really outdone myself this time. I’ve really found something that’s gonna knock your breasts back and have your ladies singing songs of happiness and joy! Allow me to introduce you to….Kush Support.

This is a “ground-breaking product” for side-sleeping women who have been visited by the breast fairy over and over again. Once thought to be a gift, now a curse! You insert the Kush Support between your breasts and it offers support while sleeping. Squeeee.

Can you say boobilicious?!?! What this also means is a more restful and better quality of sleep now that you are waking up to your ladies duking it out like mud slinging women wrestlers.

I mean…check out their promo video!

*************************************************

I bet hubby would like me to order her pretty nightie as well. I am usually off to bed in a ratty old t-shirt and that green/pink fairy-like outfit would really knock his socks off. But I digress.

Kush Support looks like it’d definitely provide that much needed support and…separation! I am not sure about the “the $24.99 that can change your life” claim but it looks like it’d certainly reduce the nightly breast battle and if nothing else, I’m sure hubby would get a great kick out of it. Not to mention, it looks like it could double for a little pre-sleep pleasure party (wink wink…if you know what I mean…hain hain…).

You can order your own Kush Support by visiting their website.

Any boob battles going on during your nightly sleep? How do you keep the sisters from knocking each other into next week? What sleep aids have you found that make a difference in your quality of sleep? Come on…share the wealth!

It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

Trailer hitch hammock (aka the bumper thumper)

Over the last year, I’ve featured a couple trailer hitch inventions that totally rock. The trailer hitch stripper pole (a personal fav), tv stand, and who could forget last week’s bumper dumper – all creature comforts of home we like to take with us on the road.

Well I have found the mother of all trailer hitch inventions. How about Hammaka Trailer Hitch Stand?

I mean, can you say ultimate tailgating party equipment to enhance your leisure and comfort?

And this hammock system is built to last. It’s made from durable steel and will hold 250 pounds on each arm. It attaches to any 2-inch standard hitch receiver and its 3-piece installation assembles in only minutes. Add a couple Ultimate Hanging Air Chairs (as featured in the picture) and BAM, you are set to swing on the back of your truck for hours.

OMG can you say MUST HAVE! I can picture hubby and I using it at all kinds of tailgating events this year. We are planning on hitting a few outdoor concerts. What better place to max and relax in our dual trailer hitch hammock system than in the parking lot awaiting entrance to the concert.

Or what about backing the truck up to the bank of a lake and casting a pole while swinging gently in the wind. Oh yes – my kind of fishing!

Or if a camp party gets a little stuffy, I’ll be able to just sneak outside and lounge around in my hammock chair. Get some air. Relax. Best yet, let’s say I get a little too drunk. I’d be able to take a nap and hubby could just hop in, drive us home and toss a blanket over me. Tada. Comfort AND convenience.

Or how about using this at work during those gorgeous summer days!!! Happens all the time where I am at work, all stressed out and even more PISSED because there I sit at my computer for hours watching the gorgeous summer day pass me by. Well no more. Now I can park the truck, whip up my trailer hitch hammock and give new meaning to the words break time and lunch! I can totally picture myself catching some rays. Shoot, maybe the wireless would reach and I could actually work from my hammock chair?!?!? You know, a happy employee means a productive employee.

Heck, I bet I could even RENT out the chairs at work while I am not using them and recoup the initial purchase cost and then some. Genius. I’ll make a fortune. I’ll be a hit, a superstar, everyone’s BFF! This little venture will put hubby’s Fry and Ride venture idea to shame!

And…the BEST part…with a little privacy the entire thing could be converted to one HELL of a bumper thumper. Oh yeah – put your minds directly IN the gutter with me friends! What FUN! Naked. Outdoors. Swinging. Squeee! I am in like flin! And I am sure with a few hints about all the “adult” swing fun and frolicking we could have; hubby will whip out his credit card for this one. We’ll be “just a swinging” in no time.

Where would you use the trailer hitch hammock system? Come on…share the wealth…

It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

Real men wear tights

So, you find your man eyeing your sexy undies, your cute thongs, your darling little boy short bottoms. And not in any homosexual way but in a metrosexual “god those look cute and comfy” kind of way. He’s jealous. He’s a bit put out. I mean, what are his choices, right? Boxers, briefs, or thongs while we ladies get an eclectic array of undergarments to hold us in, make us feel hot (physically and psychologically) and even accessories our outfits.

If it’s undies he craves, send him over to read Jenny Hansen’s Undie Chronicles for a couple of ideas on an undie makeover that will leave him speechless.

But for the very fashion forward man in your life, why not hook him up with some mantyhose? Yes, you read that right. Mantyhose: pantyhose for men!

Mantyhose by Emilio Cavallini
Thanks to Kathy Owen for turning this little ditty my way!

Mantyhose haven’t really made it to mainstream fashion quite yet but according to the news pieces on Web (and we all know anything we read on the Web is true), they are gaining quite a following of men who like to wear hosiery to layer, stay warm, and be stylish. Think long johns…on speed.

Yes, Italian designer Emilio Cavallini unveiled his unisex line of hosiery in June of 2009, and it has turned out to be a success. He claims that purchases from guys makes up 2 to 3 percent of the million tights he sells each year. Well now?!?!

And although basic black is the bestseller, Cavallini offers an array of funky patters and style for that adventurous man in your life.

He can pair them with a pair of shorts or surprise you just before bed when he unveils his secret style as he strips off his business suit. Maybe he can channel his inner Robin Hood and you can be his trusted side kick.

Better yet, buy you and your guy a matching pair and make a real statement about your couplehood.

Couples who wear tights together; stay together!

To my male readers, think this is something you’d give a whirl – why or why not? Ladies, think you’ll buy your man a pair? Better yet, will he wear them? (Be sure to take some pictures…all in the name of fashion of course!!!)

  • Kait Nolan wrote a fantastic post on learning to trust yourself AND your writing!
  • Do you treat your writing like a job? Is that how seriously you take it? When I read Trish Loye Elliott’s post on Wordbitches about taking my writing seriously, I had an “aha”.
  • Have you heard of Kindlegraphs? Susan Bischoff gave us the low-down. Sooo cool. It’s a way to give readers of your e-book a signed copy!

Better late than never…linky love

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time to share the blog luv.

Better late than never. Sorry for the delay on today’s post but I’ve been home nursing a migraine. Hope you enjoy the line-up.

Social Media Out Loud:

  • Our furry little friend, Woodie and his creator Carrie Spencer, gives us a little WordPress magic knowledge on working with headers, footers, and widgets. Eeekeee…time to personalize that WordPress blog!

Write Out Loud:

  • Trish Loye Elliott did a fantastic post on how she lost her writing mojo but then, rediscovered it through reading!
  • Donna Newton did a fantastic post on writing with your active vs passive voice. Her examples really helped me see the difference.
  • Debra Kristi gets her writing inspiration from music. Then she uses photos to help solidify the ideas in her mind’s eye. She gives us all a beautiful and mystical peak into that world. I was simply blown away by the beauty of it. Definitely inspiring!
  • Ellie Ann Soderstrom did a very powerful post on what she learned from The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo. It blew me away. I don’t think I’ll watch the movie (too much for me) but I do think I’ll read the books.
  • I absolutely loved Lani Wendt Young’s post on why she won’t ever be a best-selling author. Super cute!
  • David Gaughran did a fantastic and extensive post on Amazon’s new KDP Select program and took a look at the bigger picture of subscription models and how authors will collectively define future compensation for their work.
  • Jennifer Eaton gave us a great look at why beta-readers are so important. Because no matter how much editing you do, you will always be reading what you think you wrote.

Life Out Loud:

  • Lesann Berry did a great post awhile back that inspired me. It had THE greatest motivational image for women. It was about aspiring to be the best we can, and try to do right. As she wisely said “we might not always make it there – but efforts are meaningful.” I agree.
  • Marcia Richards did a truly wonderful post on how sometimes abstaining from venting for a period of time and allowing that steam to build, you can harness the power of your frustrations to cause a change in your status quo.

Laugh Out Loud:

I hope you enjoyed this week’s line-up of fantabulous blog posts. Stay tuned for next week’s. I promise to go and spend oodles of time (time away from friends and family I’ll have you know…) to bring you this do-or-die information…My god…you guys must really love me!!

Got any ditties of your own to share? Let me know and maybe they’ll be featured as part of next week’s line-up…

Thursday’s love fest! Uber stuff to check out….

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time to share the blog luv.

Blog Out Loud:

  • Social Media Savvy Pets offers us 8 tips for writing the perfect blog post. Who couldn’t use that? Love how they suggest keeping posts to 400-800 words. I think my “typically” fall into that range but I know I can get a wee bit wordy. Gonna have to try to keep things a bit tighter so I don’t lose y’all to yawns and click mania.
  • Here’s a little technical ditty that might help you take your WordPress (or Blogger) blog from bland to BAM. Carrie Spencer’s Woodie Knows WordPress editions are step-by-step, easy-to-understand technical tips and tricks. Check out her tutorial on basic HTML for some helpful hints!!
  • I am sure we can all relate to Trish Loye Elliott’s struggles with the art of blogging. She’s gearing up to take the blog plunge but has reservations – go give her some encouragement!

Write Out Loud:

  • Loved that Jenny Hansen brought us all 5 bits of wisdom from New York Times Bestselling author, Susan Mallery. Jenny had the opportunity to hear her speak recently and graciously shared the wealth with some fabulous motivational tips for writers. It came not a minute too soon as a lot of us embark on ROW80 – Round 4. I loved it!
  • I know…I know…you likely have all seen it (and are tired of hearing about my hero worshiping of Kristen Lamb) but I can’t help it if the woman writes such damn fine posts with loads of uberlicious material for writers that I feel compelled to share JUST IN CASE you missed it. I could link to…well…just about every blog post she writes but one in particular stood out to me recently. Susan Bischoff swung by Kristen’s blog to give her unique perspective and experience about learning to blog on topics that will increase book readership. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, do it! It’s a light bulb moment post!

Laugh Out Loud:

Just recently it occurred to me that…well…maybe we don’t allll share the same sense of humour?!?! GASP!!! So…if you don’t find any of these funny…well…my apologies! You’re on your own! I can’t save you.

  • Ok, when I saw Piper Bayard’s post on one upping invisible art with invisible porn, I had to go check it out. You guys often write me “where do you come up with this stuff???” well go visit Piper’s blog post. I nearly died. Where does she come up with this stuff? Brilliant!
  • Whenever I need a dose of funny, I know I can always count on The Bloggess to deliver in spades and last week was no different. I just about died reading her post on bulletin board sign drama in her neighborhood. Be sure to read the first post, she links to it but you can also find it here, so you have the background. OMG – I think tears streamed down my face! RIOT!
  • Like The Bloggess, anytime I am looking for a sure-fire funny treat, I just swing over to Catalog Living and I am giggling away in no time. Check out Pardon my French. I laughed out loud. In my office. While alone.
  • Lani Wendt Young wrote an uberlicious blog post about how she used to be a luxury lingerie lover until she had children. Sooo good and I am sure a lot of us can relate! LOL!

Life Out Loud:

  • I know it got around Twitter quite heavily so a lot of you may have already seen this but just in case, I had to highlight it. Justine Musk wrote an uberlicious post on the so-called rules for the badass creative woman and I LOVED it! Definitely go check it out!
  • Then I discovered Claire Legrand’s post on getting outside your comfort zone, also a must read. I loved it because it reminded me that in taking risks and stepping beyond our usual zone, we stretch, grow, and expand which is all good!
  • And last but certainly not least, JUST this morning, I discovered Liza Kane’s uber guest post at Courage 2 Create. I absolutely loved her writer’s guide to a healthy and happy marriage (…shoulda called it the everyone’s guide…) because when people ask me and hubby “what our secret is,” her key points are the ones we refer to: individual happiness, shared values, and mutual respect (all in ACTIONS not in words only)! Sadly, I am always sooo surprised how many still don’t get it. I have an overload of friends still out there searching for “inner happiness” in the arms of a partner never realizing, it’s actually the mirror they need to connect with. So well said Liza!

Shut the front door – I wonder another blog award!

Poor hubby had to put up with me nerdjacking the entire conversation on our way to the camp this weekend about the blog award I won. To his credit, he listened with enthusiasm and congratulated me appropriately. But y’all in the blogosphere would understand a little better. I won a Liebster Award!

Break out the champagne! Woot woot!

I have to admit, I’ve been seeing the Liebster Award being awarded to my some of my uberlicious blog friends here and there and I was happy for them! Seriously…I was!!! I mean, I am!!! They rock and deserve the honor. But at the same time, I wondered “why not my little blog?!?! What do have to do to get your attention people???

And then voila, my good friend and ahhhmazing fellow blogger Tameri Etherton bestowed the honor on me. Thank you!!! I am gushing and blushing…again!

Tameri and I met at writer social media guru Kristen Lamb’s Blog to Build Your Brand course (another round starts in October/November – I HIGHLY recommend it). I gotta just say it straight up, Tameri rocks my world! Her trashy TV recap posts are a highlight of my week because she covers ALL of my favs. And her whimsy Wednesdays are always filled with something hilarious. It’s one of my go-to blogs for great content!

According to the uber fabulous Barbara McDowell, the Liebster Award originated in Germany and Liebster means “dear, sweet, darling, beloved.” The point of the award is to help bring a little more attention to blogs with fewer than 200 followers (what??? You mean I don’t have 200 followers yet??? Hmmmm!?!?!)

Winners of a Liebster must:

  1. Post the award on your blog and show thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them via the award graphic. Check out the award in my right hand menu, it now links to Tameri’s fab blog!
  2. Reveal your top five picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog or send them a shout out on Twitter. It’s all about spreading the love.
  3. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the Internet – other writers (and bloggers).

Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The five blogs I would like to honor with a Liebster Award are bloggers who make my blog world a way better place to be in. I love to read, comment, tweet and follow their blogs because they rock. The content is well written, fun, and informative. And the reciprocating support and the blog luv they shower on me fills my heart with gratitude and joy.

Now, I can’t be 100% each of these blogs has under 200 followers part but I am going with people I believe fit the criteria and that I read, adore, and want to promo. And I tried to find ahhmazing bloggers I love who hadn’t already received the Liebster honor. So, without further ado, I would like to award and congratulate the following bloggers with a Liebster Award:

  • Patricia Sands, author of The Bridge Club, is traveling around France and since we all can’t be there with her to experience it in person, she shares her journey with each of us through her blog. Filled with gorgeous pictures and amazing sights and stories, you’ll think you were right there with her. Merci Patricia!
  • Kate Wood will take you back in time to the glorious days of the ancient Celts, Picts, Druids, Boudicca, and King Arthur. She is captivated by history and legends and you will be to once you start to follow her blog. Take a cup of tea when you sit down with Kate. It’ll just feel right.
  • Diana Murdock, author of Again, writes a blog with posts that are intimate, extremely well-written, and often prompt me to think beyond the ordinary; to dig a little deeper. I love them. She writes from her heart and soul and you won’t be sorry you visited her.
  • Kait Nolan, author of Red (which I just finished – it rocked) and the Mirus series, posts on writing, life in general, and on Operation Goddess in Training. She’s funny, poignant and writes straight from the heart. The blog is easy to read, well written and chalked full of great content. I guarantee, once you start reading, you won’t be able to stop.
  • Wordbitches, with a name like that how could I not honor them with a Liebster. This blog rocks my writing world with amazing posts from three amazing writers (Leanne Shirtliffe, Elena Aitken, and Trish Loye Elliott). These writers use this blog as a means of accountability to their writing goals. Their posts cover a gamut of topics but are all mostly related to the real-world experience of writing with great tips, tricks, and ideas. Keep up the good work ladies!

There you go award-winning fellow bloggers! Enjoy your well-deserved honor! Now go spread the luv!
