With summer coming up on us like a freight train (and for those of you who enjoy summer nearly all year-long – damn you), hubby and I have started pulling out the usual fun-in-the-sun gear.
We’ve got our beach chairs (I admit, I have a slight addiction), we’ve got our umbrella, and we’ve got a new collapsible cart from Costco to help us tug all our gear to and from the beach. Ok….not “we”…more like hubby will tug it along but I digress.

As you can see, we are pretty well set up!
Except for this TRAGEDY right here! Note the red circles!

Yes…that’s right! While maxin’ and relaxin’ catching some rays, Hubby and I have to physically HANG ONTO our beer? A major intrusion on my mucho relaxo attitude! It requires care and consideration which hampers my potential nap possibilities. I mean, what if I fell asleep or got so relaxed I simply….let go?!?! We are talking possible epic beer blunders people. There’d even likely be…spillage….
GASP! Say it isn’t so Natalie?!?!?!
It’s so people. It’s so!
For those skeptics who are reading all confused saying “why doesn’t she just set the damn thing on the sand?!?!?” Silly people….silly, non-beach people! Although to the less experienced bodacious beach baby, that would sound like an adequate solution allow me to impart some of my hard-earned fun-in-the-sun lessons with you. Setting said koozie on the beach leads to 3 things:
- SAND on my beer koozie. I understand, in and of itself this is not a huge issue except for the fact that now, each time I bring that cold cocktail to my lips, I’ll inadvertently get sand dribble all over myself. This is both uncomfortable and leads to uneven tans. No thank you!!
- Speaking of cold, setting said koozie on the HOT sand means that my brown bottled brewski will be tasting like hot chocolate in no time. Ewwww…
- And finally, by having your beverage sitting in the sand, there is an increased likelihood of knocking the darn thing over. When I pour myself out of that insanely low-to-the-ground beach chair, I stagger around like a drunken sailor that’s been on a bender for a week.
I am sure you all understand now the dilemma I am faced with. That all beach people are faced with. A travesty!
Well no longer! I’ve saved our respective beach butts with….the portable magnetic beverage stake!
I want to BE That lady in the picture! How uberliciously fabulous does that look (although it would be improved if it was available in bedazzled pink…just sayin’!) Ya just drive the little stake into the ground near the chair and use the magnetic insulated koozie and voila, all done.
The magnetic based keeps the koozie secure to the stake so all is kept “cool, raised and in reach” (my kind of motto). You don’t have to worry about knocking it over unless you want to punt it like a football (another viable FUN use – gotta luv multipurpose products!!!!)
You can order this genius gadget for $10.99 (+ shipping) from the website.
How do you keep your beverage cool and clean in the summer? Are you a beach bum or a sand hater? What’s your favorite ways to cool off and beat the summer heat?
It’s Twisted Tuesday and that means it’s time to enjoy a smile, giggle or laugh…here’s hoping I’ve provided it in spades…enjoy!

You do find the coolest things, Natalie! I may get a couple of these!
Aren’t they neat?!?! I can’t wait to order a few. I’ll have to paint and bedazzle mine. LOL!
Brilliant! Trying to think of who I can buy this for. What a fun gift, and so practical!
I know, eh?! I am super pumped to get mine. I’ll have to take pics and post an update.
what next? OMG
You just wait Louise…LOL!!
OMG Natalie, even in the face of impending disaster you find the perfect solution. Oh, by the way, I have relaxed on those sunny NB beaches and I have sworn to return again before I perish. They are without equal. Happy beaching!
Well we can’t WAIT to have you back Prudence. Although NFLD has some wonderful things to offer, our beaches are definitely a great NB attraction.
Those are brilliant. You could set up a few and have your tunes set up next to your beverage!
ABSOLUTELY!! Luv it Jenny….like the way you think!!
I’m always on the lookout for practical gadgets and I love this one! Thanks for mentioning my post, too, Natalie! You rock, beach baby!
My pleasure darlin’!! Glad you enjoyed the post!
I have to admit, I have a small beach chair addiction as well. At last count we had 20. Um, there are only four of us in the family, and even if we all brought two friends, then we still have way too many chairs. Besides, my car only carries 8 people which would mean no room for the chairs. See my problem?
Where was I? Oh, yeah, the magnetic cozy thing! I’m kind of thinking this is awesome. For $10.99 that seems like a great deal. I’ll definitely have to try this out.
By the way, your pic with the red circles is hilarious! I can just picture you on photoshop doing that. You’re way too talented.
We must be sisters from different mothers?!?!?! LOL!! 20 chairs…I LOVE IT!! And I mean, it’s important to have one for every possible beach occasion and color!!! Ya just never know, right? And what if one breaks when you are loading it into the car?!?! Voila, you have spares! Never enough girl…
I know, hubby and I thought they were priced right as well. We are definitely ordering a few. I plan to paint and bedazzle mine…squeee!!! I’ll send ya some pics…
Oh that is such a great idea! I totally agree with the stuck in the sand issue, although I’m not a beer drinker. Those pictures make me realize how ready I am for summer. Man, I LOVE the beach! I can’t wait to be closer.
And you are going to be SOOO close to the beach girl!! Squeee!!!
Well, you can still use them for cans of ice tea, pop, diet soda and I believe the koozie also hold bottles nicely as well – water, juice etc.
I know….I wish summer was HERE already! We’ve had about 3 weeks of rain, clouds, and around 10-14 degree weather…where is the SUN and the HEAT?!?!? Come on already. I’ll be super jealous when you are in enjoying THAT 365 days a year….
Sitting on a beach chair with a cold one…what’s that like? Seriously? I go to the beach — we’re swimming, playing Frisbee, building sand castles — heck, I’m chasing kids and making sure said kids don’t drown… There’s no sitting, LOL. I do have to say that’s a very cool product, though.
Oh no Raelyn!! Well someday said children will be grown a bit…or even grown up and it’ll be your turn to rest and relax again!! LOL!!
First off…I totally want to be on that beach!! Second. Where DO you find these things? that is brilliant! Love it. Enjoy the beach this summer. And…thanks for the blog love.
That is one of hubby and mine’s favorite beaches. It’s about a 2 hour drive from home and we luv it….if you ever come East in the summer, we’ll definitely take you to check it out.
Glad you enjoyed the post and the product…and you are most welcome darlin’!!!
Well, I will no longer take the cup holders in my beach chair for granted! lol Have delicious, fun, lazy beach days!
Cup holders IN beach chairs?!?!? I must know where you buy these?!?! LOL!! Yes…they are to be prized and appreciated. LOL!!
You enjoy your beach days as well.
You two make everything look and seem so fun.
I’m not much of a beach girl, probably got my life’s fill in Miami, but I love sipping cool drinks and hanging outdoors. You’ve so inspired me to plan a summertime picnic!
Awwww…thank you August!!
I think these would work wonderfully for any outdoor type activity and especially a picnic! No one likes it when a drink topples over…and I bet you could tuck the edges of the blanket into the stake and then cup holders could do double duty holding down your picnic blanket!!
Have a BLAST maxin’ and relaxin’!
